Go to this link: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pyYi8H_o-Lsand you'll hear the most beautiful piece of classical music ever put to a wonderful video, which it was written for!! To me its one of the most perfect. It was written for the film Hannibal and the film uses it perfectly. Its the story of Hannibal and Clarice. Its called 'see my heart' - about Hannibal wanting clarice to see 'his' heart - but then he walks away and they cant be together etc etc (thats how I interpret it anyway). Anyways - very powerful and beautiful. Even Holly - my 5 year old - got very emotional and started crying when I played it loud and asked her to close her eyes! Such a sensitive, cultured child she is ;D

Hrm... not bad, but for "most beautiful piece of classical music", I will see your "See Your Heart" and raise you the Intermezzo from "Cavalleria Rusticana". SPOILERS-- If you have not seen "The Godfather, Part III" yet, don't see this video. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tgYnp8bsX-Q

ooooh you gave some stiff competition there Bum - but I still think my vide cor meum wins, I have to say. Its much more powerful, painful and emotive. Even though the Intetmezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana IS beautiful, that piece is actually the backdrop to an advertisement for bread over here! Cant imagine Vide Cor meum being used for that, lol
What does anyone else think!?? Lets open the debate!! Or add to it, whatever. i'm loving my classical these days so would like to hear more recommended pieces!
