Anyone ever read any of his work? I love him! The only thing I find overtly disturbing about him (when compared to other horror writers) - is that in every book of his I have read, a child dies. I find that hard to read, to be honest. He doesnt graphically describe their deaths, but he says enough to get you crying about it (well enough for me to cry about it - but I cry easilly, so there). Actually, there was one book - Deadhead - in which he did describe a childs death to the extent I where I was like, WTF? But hey, the murderer gets one hell of a comeuppance Anyways, he is brilliant. His writing style involves many different stories happening at the same time. He switches from one to another to another....seemingly completely different scenarios...and then they all come together towards the end. I just love that. Obviously a writer who spend a lot of time planning his works before its written (as opposed to some who just let it 'flow'). The pieces fit together like a jigsaw. There is only one main weakness of his that I see. IMO, the man is not exceptional at endings . A few of his endings have disappointed to be honest. However, I have always enjoyed his work emmensely . he always give the 'I dont wanna out this book down' feeling!

Kinda sounds like another writer we know Mrs. Balboa, doesn't it? I have not heard of him, I'll have to look him up but sounds very promising from what you've just pointed out. Isn't it amazing how some writers make you think like that and keep you paying attention? How they bring the book together at the end? I absolutely adore that. It's like their telling you something about the characters that they have foreshadowed previously but you kinda shrugged it off thinking it wasn't much but a characteristic. Then that "insignificant characteristic" saves the lives of the other characters. It is sad to see the children getting killed at the end but it does make the book more realistic doesn't it. Seeming like this could really happen. Death doesn't care if your 7 years old and I like how the writers incorporate that into their writing. It gives the book a pulse, so to speak.

I agree with you about the realism thing....and yea, he is very king-esque. He doesnt spend as much time on description and intricacies as King does though. However, like I said, I have never been able to put a book of his down. Every chapter ends on a cliffhanger! I wouild recommend particually, 'Spawn', 'Nemesis' 'Exodus' and 'Deadhead' (particually 'Spawn').
