I find it remarkable and commendable that a man of Sly's age is still able to grow long hair, even if it is just a mullet. I read on some site that was posting John Rambo news, a poster on its forum was complaining "He's got a mullet? Still? What is wrong with Stallone? Did he just make that decision without thinking?"
Immediately I was irritated. He's Rambo, b*tch. You think he watches the E! channel and reads Entertainment Weekly? You think he follows what Ryan Seacrest is doing with his hair? I mean he's freakin' Rambo. I can't emphasize that enough. He is the opposite of trendy, he is completely apart from anything remotely resembling trends or styles. He probably has a mullet because he cuts his own hair and he can only see the front.

I remember in the very very very first issue of DVDs for the Rambo movies, Rambo's creator David Morrell joking about how the movies went on, Rambo knife and his hair got longer.

Yes masterofdisaster19 - I have these same feelings at times. I get so annoyed at how he is ridiculed. I've followed Stallone since the early days and I just can't figure out why he is so readily raked over the coals. Leaves me shaking my head. Silly as it may sound, it hurts my feelings!

People tend to forget what a potent, affecting character he is onscreen, and it all gets lost in parody. But there wouldn't be so many people ridiculing and parodying him were he not such an iconic and archetypal character. Any character that burns such a strong impression into peoples' minds is well conceived.

I loved his mullet. Men like Rambo dont have to or need to worry about their appearance - they couldnt give a f**k what people think about it. I agree with MOD about him cutting his hair himself. He probably hacks it off with a knife and saves all the cut offs somewhere, to one day weave together to make a rope or something.

With every progressing Rambo film the body count, muscle mass, blade length and hair length rose. Never cross the mullet. Ever. Especially when its attached to a 200 pound stack of muscle with a 16" bowie knife and a bad case PTSD.
